Do It Yourself. Because you can, want to, or can’t afford otherwise.
Just maybe then, I can be COOL like Claire and clever, like Tina.
Here is my DIY To-Do list. All manageable, economical, elementary... right (shamelessly asking begging for a little encouragement here)??? I figured if I shared them with you- my 20 readers, and 5 loyal commenters (you know who you are), then I'd be accountable for following through on what just may brew into a little obsession, or a complete mishap. STAY TUNED...
1) spray paint something
2) wall paper something
3) label something
4) reupholster something
5) magnetize something
6) concoct something
7) fabricate something
8) frame something
*Are YOU a DIY member?? Any projects or mishaps you'd like to share?
yay diy!! it's totally rewarding, that's for sure!
ReplyDeletei've never ventured into the reupholstering territory, so please do share how that goes (and everything else!)
Your blogs are like a new TV series that I look forward to each week!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen you want to make a beautiful book with all your pictures, let me know cause that's what I'm into!www.christycave.com (Heritage Makers)
Torrie, this is so funny because I literally just got back from the bead district in downtown LA looking for materials for my upcoming DIY project. I used to craft all the time and in recent years have been neglecting my DIY projects. But I want to get back into it because it's so fun. I just brought my sewing machine home from my parents' house and I want to sew and make jewelry again. And I'd love to spray paint some candlesticks like the ones you posted! Keep us posted on how it goes for you and I'll do the same.

Okay, so you do all of those things and I will pretend like I did them then I can take them off my to-do list as well! Love the list but I could never get to it- not with a little one around but you definitely could! Hope you have a fab day and i will tell you my idea when I have more than 2 mintues to sit down and write! XOXO Jessica
ReplyDeleteI'm a big believer in DIY, I just can never find the time! But... just last night my fiance and one of my bridesmaids made gingham tops for 120 jars of jam (our wedding favor) and tied on the escort cards (dual funtion).. so I'm quite proud and there is just such a fantastic sense of accomplishment that comes from getting your hands dirty... at least I think so. XOX,Jane
ReplyDeleteI love DIY projects. I just wish I had more time to do them. About two months ago, I painted Emma's room and redecorated it. It took me three whole days. My next big DIY project is to tile the backsplash behind our stove, repaint the kitchen and sand down the kitchen cabinets. We will see how well that goes.

I love this!!! Great post!! I love DIY projects!...I need to make a list of my own!
ReplyDeletego with "label" first. it's the easiest. =) good luck!
ReplyDeletegirl, you can do it! there is so much pleasure in making something with your own two hands. i cannot wait to see what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with everyone else, go for it! I love being crafty but often don't get the time with two little ones running around. I tend to go for smaller, more manageable projects that, amazingly, do give me a sense of accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list! I think I might actually get something done if I made a list like this. I'm actually spray painting something right now but, it's taking me forever to finish it. :( I love the image with the bunk bed and that adorable picture of the sisters...so cute!
