Gratitude.

I am writing this post in a spirit of gratitude.  Gratitude for your ideas, support, encouragement, in how you have managed to achieve balance in your many competing priorities- how you have managed to keep moving, and better yet, given yourselves the right of way.  Because really, this is what it's all about, right?  Figuring out what you want your priorities to be (not what they should be).  Balancing your needs with the needs of others.  And staying committed to fitting what matters most into your life.  So, thank you - for sharing and inspiring!

AND by the way...

The recipe exchange is moving right along too, with Tina's Spaghetti Squash Gratins & Apple Cider Donut Holes (!), and over @ Kimmy's- corn, leeks, and potatoes- 2 ways... as a delicious corn chowder, and a healthier version of potato cakes.  And, I look forward to seeing what Elaine's got cookin' up today!

  3. I love the poster! And it's so true. Balance is so difficult in the mix of all the stress and chaos of everyday life. I LOVE spaghetti squash and that dish looks fantastic! I might have to try it soon.

  12. I was at the thrift store again and was so tempted to buy an exercise bike just to get going but really this would have created more problems because what I like to do is run. I'm not really a biking gal (only for fun) so the bike might've sat unused, gathering dust for who knows how long,

It's funny. I never thought too much about balance until I became a mom, maybe because that's when I really felt imbalanced. I've gotten a little better as the kids get older, perhaps not unexpectedly, but I also feel more calm and more willing to accept and, more importantly, embrace the challenges that come with parenting. These are what make life richer and so I am grateful for these challenges. They make me who I am today, and even with a little more body fat, I really like who I am better than even 10 years ago.

And today, right now, I am grateful to have a blogging buddy like you who makes me think about things, important and otherwise, and tickles my taste buds with so many delicious dishes (not to mention the great comments you leave on my blog). Have a great weekend!
