Since the kids are out of school tomorrow, Hailey had some friends over today & we made cupcakes together. Each got to take a turn on the stool when it was their "job." They were so excited to step on up and measure/scoop/stir/push the button... you-name-it. They were in the spotlight- if even just for a moment, and they beamed with competency, focus, and pride. No different from what I witnessed earlier today, at Jacob's poetry reading. I was amazed at the depth, the passion, the heart that each individual possessed. Each stood up to the podium- just as those cute little girls stood up on that stool... & let their light shine.
{...easy to forget that they really do have wings of their own, but sure is sweet to see them fly}
{vanilla cupcakes with a little pumpkin pie spice added to the dry ingredients & tj's pear cinnamon cider in place of some of the milk... & a little champagne- to get this 3-day weekend started on the right track =)}
I think making cupcakes is one of my most favorite things to do with ARiyana. And yes...the stool is so key! These vanilla cupcakes with pumpkin spice sound just perfect. TGIF and have a wonderful weekend Torrie!
ReplyDeletelove this collage of photos...love baking with the kids even more. sounds like a right start to the weekend! happy friday!
ReplyDeleteOh fun! I love the pear drink and yes champagne is the perfect start to a three day weekend. I think letting kids help you in the kitchen is one of the best things you can do for them as far as their creativity and confidence. Your such a great mom!
ReplyDeleteI love this. Sounds like a perfect afternoon.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fun night! Those cupcakes look delish!
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful. What a cool thing to witness...you are helping this world raise confident women! Go Torrie!
ReplyDeletei want that stool!
ReplyDeleteI read this earlier today but couldn't comment. Basically you inspired me to back cookies with Emerson this afternoon. I have not done anything like that in a while (I find it hard to let go of the perfectionist monster inside) but I tried to just let go and make some happy memories.
ReplyDeleteAlso, hoping to pop some champagne tonight myself. Enjoy your weekend.
It sounds like you're starting your weekend off right. Maybe I'll have to make something with the girls tomorrow - they're both stirring maniacs. :)
