Good scents {Listography 2011}.

Each Wednesday, Danielle, @ Elleinad Spir, Emily, @ Notorious MLE, and myself are working our way through the lists of Listography 2011.

Right off the bat, I'll tell ya... I read this week's topic all wrong.  I blame it on end-of-school [non-stop] projects (assigned to the kids, I might add),  & well, that's my excuse & I'm stickin' to it.

So, this week's list topic was, "List your least favorite smells."  I read right past the "least" part, and wrote a favorite smell list instead.  As much as I feel like I'm attending school with all these projects I've been assisting with... I needed to remind myself that this isn't a homework assignment.  I make the rules here, right??  Or, I can at least bend them a bit!

Who wants to hear about vomit & pee & poop & my dog's farts &- other than my kids- anyways??  (actually, i kinda look forward to the other gal's lists)  Until then, here's mine...

My favorite smells.

Now your turn.  Link up a post of your own below, or share in the comments... Favorite OR least favorite scents??

  1. Lol. I love that you love the toxic smells! That made me laugh. Great list, lots of yummy smells. Our first house had honeysuckle in the yard, one of my fav smell memories.

  2. Funny, I did a similar post way back in August...so linking up to that! And yes, I read it incorrectly too and assumed the list was for FAVORITE smells...sounds like we are both running on the same amount of time...no time!

  3. Freshly cut grass, the smell of gasoline in our boats on the lake and yes the smell after a good summer rain! All your scents just made me feel all good inside. makes me happy thinking of those things and so glad you did the favorites list instead of the not so favorite scents! NO one wants to hear that! Love this list. One of my favorites thus far!

  7. Your toxic smells made me laugh, too. ACK! Cigarette smoke, anyone? :)
Many on your list are also favorites, plus certain spices like cardamom and curry powder. I like the way clothes from Nordstrom smells. Italian laundry detergent. Freshly washed hair with faint scents of Aveda and Moroccanoil. Definitely citrus blooms but also Tuberose, Freesia, Gardenia, and Plumeria. The smell of the forest and the beach. Tomato plants. Oh... I could go on and on.

  8. I must say I do like hearing about your favorites, rather than your least :). I just bought e some mister sketch markers. We have been smelling away!

  9. Hey, I did the exact same thing, my favorite smells, isn't that funny so many took out the "least"? I love everything on your list except pizza parlors, too greasy.

  11. Mmmmmmmm... lots of heavenly scents listed!
As for least favorites, I would have smoke at the top of my list with the Yankee Candle store at second (I can't get near the YC store at our mall or else I start gagging~ I'm doing it now just thinking of it!). YUCK!

  12. PS: that would be cigarette smoke! I love smoke from a campfire or a chimney on a cold day!

  13. Oooh...I would say that my favorite smell of all is the smell of a freshly-bathed baby. (Or maybe a freshly brewed latte! :) ) Don't even want to contemplate gross smells right now...

  14. Agree with all including gasoline - love it! And don't kids always smell amazing. Plus gave us smoking 30 years ago (and hate it!) but do love smell of freshly lit cigarette (maybe it's the smell of a mispent youth!)

  17. Hmmmm....what a yummy post today. I'm all over memory lane with your list. You've included so many that would go on mine and some that would go on mine but I would've forgotten to list -- a freshly cleaned house for instance. Your first two were my favorites.

  18. @Micah Yes. Love pumpkin. The essence of fall. And HATE incense. That would be on my 'worst list' for sure. I think any smell that people use to cover up other smells is questionable... except candles.

  21. Hmm, off the top of my head...cinnamon toast, sawdust, cedar, the inside of my beagle's ears, my husband's neck, the moment of walking into a TCBY, freshly turned soil.

Least favorite: collard greens and circus peanuts.

  22. Favorites - cilantro, autumn in Connecticut, the smell of fresh cut grass.

  23. I love this list. There are so many great smells and my family and now husband make fun of me because I smell EVERYTHING. I can't help it, I'm in tune with my senses. I have to admit though, the list of least favorite smells would be pretty hilarious. Can't wait to check them out!

  24. citrus blossoms...so beautiful! And I totally agree about the smell of rain. My husband swears that rain doesn't have a smell, but I beg to differ!

  25. mr. sketch markers don't just smell fantabulous they are the best markers for making (non computer generated) charts, lists, etc. i went through packs and packs when i was teaching. love!

completely agree on the toxic chemicals btw.

your list rocks and the fact that you "broke" the rule is even better. =) xo
