Put a little love in your heart {Listography 2011}.

Each Wednesday, Emily, @ Notorious MLE, Danielle, @ Elleinad Spir, and I are working our way through the lists of Listography 2011.

List # Sweet 16.

List your favorite romantic comedies.

I've felt the need to narrow most lists down, with the exception of a few, but creating this list has taught me a few things about myself.

  1. I'm a total sucker for romance flicks of every variety... the cheesy, the predictable, the poor acting, the outdated... you name it.
  2. They are ALL my favorites.
  3. Hence, the list cannot be shortened.
  4. In fact, it's nowhere near completion.
  5. They say, these films make you "less happy."  No way Jose...
  6. I was in a pure state of joy- watching trailer after trailer in preparation for this post.
  7. I seem to have an affinity for films with Hugh Grant.  And Julia Roberts.  And John Cusack.  And you know Meg Ryan's in like 1/2 of them.
  8. I really need to familiarize myself with the pre-80's era when it comes to films.
  9. And even the post 2003.  Went through a little movie-watching-all-work-no-play gap there for a while.
  10. I love Jake Ryan.

So, without further ado, here is the [incomplete] list...

Are you a lovey dovey kinda person when it comes to movies?  What am I missing here??  Share in the comments, or write a big {or little} ol' post of your own, and link it up at Danielle's.  It was actually an unexpectedly fun list to write, and I can't wait to re-watch each and every one of them.  I could use a little more spring in my step.

{Speaking of spring, next week, we're sharing ideas for livin' green... }

  2. oh, torrie, i am loving your list as i love them all too! no matter how bad, cheesy, poorly written, i find joy in every single one. and let's not even get started on the soundtracks! Serendipity will be my choice for my ride into work today. Thanks for the reminder.

  3. I have a huge movie gap in my life...2006 to present. I guess one little addition to the family caused my movie watching to diminish. ;)

  4. Romantic comedies are probably my favorite too, so theres nothing wrong with a long list of them. Movies are like TV, magazines, books, all that to me. There are exceptions, but for the most part all of that it is an escape from real life and I want it to be fun and to make me happy :)

  9. @Notorious MLE Love it. I just commented on your list that I’m in the air about the Bridget Jones movie since I liked the book way better, but due to Hugh alone, it’s now officially added… along with all of the others that I’ve added. =)

  13. Say Anything and The Princess Bride will always top my list! I'm so nostalgic for those 80s movies...they just don't make 'em like they used to (I sound like I'm *in* my 80s!!)... Glad to see them on your list!

  18. I don't watch very many movies but I probably have The Princess Bride and Love, Actually memorized. I've heard of a bunch on your list - I'll have to order them from the library since they're Torrie-approved. :)

  20. @Stephanie Okay, will do for sure. I’ve heard about it, but there’s seriously so many (post 2003) that we haven’t seen, I wasn’t sure where to start! Will start here.

So, you love him too??? Guess what Jacob’s middle name is?? (that may or may not be due to the fact that his father shares the same name ;)

  25. Wow that is an intense list of romantic comedies. I'm not even sure I could think up that many!

(I always have trouble when asked to recall names of movies, songs, etc. Apparently, it's just not my thing)

  26. I love romantic comedies too. I'm a sucker for anything sappy and most of these are on my list too. I LOVE Jake Ryan! That's definitely one of my favorites. My other faves are How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, He's Just Not That Into You, Can't Buy Me Love, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and Father of the Bride. I need to check out a few of the movies on your list that I haven't seen yet!
