Good... & bad combos.

The Super Bowl party was a success.  Seven batches of dough.  Ten grilled pizzas.  And lots... and lots of toppings.  Since you were all so generous with your suggestions, I thought I'd share some of the favorite combos...
  • Barbecue chicken (with caramelized onions, cilantro, chicken, BBQ sauce, Fontina, and smoked mozzarella)
  • Hawaiian (one with pineapple, Canadian bacon, Fontina, mozzarella, and another with the addition of caramelized onions, smoked mozzarella, and pepperoncinis)
  • Valerie's mushroom, goat cheese, and truffle oil pizza (thanks Valerie!)
  • Veggie (with pesto, kalamata olives, pepperoncinis, marinated artichokes, roasted yellow tomatoes, Fontina, and smoked mozzarella)
  • Classic (good ol' pepperoni and sausage- with mozzarella and Fontina)
  • We made four different types of crust- herb, whole wheat, white, and Parmesan.
{There were others- plus others from your suggestions- that we wanted to try (and have on our list to try next time)...like this beauty, created by Bruce.}

Though the party was a success, I ended up getting sick- right in the middle of it.  That, plus being up at 4:30 am the next morning for my first day of boot camp, did not make for a good combination.  As you may recall, I was ready for a change in my exercise routine, and finally took action.  Yet, although my mind was ready, my body- well, not so much.

Needless to say, it was a rough day.  I write this, not to whine, or loath in self-pity, but to let you know that my posts may be a little short, or 'off' for the next few weeks- as I adjust to my new schedule... and become intimately acquainted with new friends- Epsom Salt & Ben Gay.

  1. Hoooly cow. I can't wait to hear how boot camp training goes. Is it the kind where they yell at you and everything? I'd be scurred.

Your pizzas look delicious. Again, I'm going to have to seek some out today like I did after your other post where people suggested pizza toppings in the comments.

  5. WOW! The pizzas look great!

And Thank You for linking to me.

So sorry to hear you got sick.

Exercise. Susan and I started once again in early January at Planet Fitness, but the weather, the snow storms have made it difficult to get motivated.

    I know, no excuse.

And I must. We must. My daughter is getting married June 25 and I want to be looking better, thinner, and lighter!

I guess I should stop making bread :) LOL!

More recipes will be coming at Bruce's Kitchen. A wonderful roasted chicken via Claire Robinson and an easy Thai Chicken Cashew dish.

  7. Holy Pizza!!!! Yum. YUM!

Sorry that you got sick though :(

Hey, that exercise routine sounds like a great idea. I too need to get out of my 25 minute elliptical, read people magazine, watch E! or The Kardashians, text and check email on my phone routine....pathetic. My husband actually was waving to me, jumping up and down in the window in front of my machine at the gym the other day and i didn't even see him bc I was glued to Kate Gosslin True Hollywood Story!

Let me know how the new routine is going! That's one early class. Kick some butt girl!

  11. Grilled pizza looks and sounds amazing. It's been years since we've fired up our grill. Sad but true. You may have inspired me for springtime.

And I loved your comment last week on Creative Crush. I too hated all that stuff as a kid. I can totally relate. So does that mean that our kids are going to remember thinking that we had horrible taste growing up? Oh well. I guess there are worse things.

  12. @The Suburb Experiment Seriously- that's what I was wondering! No Jillian-style getting-in-your-face-yelling, but definitely very firm. Firm enough where you are highly motivated to do what she tells you to do... even when you feel like you're going to DIE. =)
