Each Wednesday, Danielle, @ Elleinad Spir, Emily @ Notorious MLE, and myself are working our way through the lists of Listography 2011.
The time has come for list #3.
These lists are proving to be just as challenging and thought-provoking as I imagined... in a stimulating, tap-into-yourself kinda way. First, it was goals; next it was tear-jerker books (LOTS of great reads- right here). The topic for this week is "things that are beyond your grasp of understanding." There are quite a few things that are (at least at the moment) beyond my grasp of understanding. Just how long do I want this list to be?? How much do I want to indulge here??
So I started out all serious, but then digressed... rather quickly. I blame Ryan, since he was filled with input on this one. Actually- pretty helpful, and we had many laughs in the process. So, deep thoughts kept deep, here are a just a few of the things that are beyond my grasp of understanding.
Infinity.
Impossible for my finite brain to comprehend anything infinite- without a beginning and an end, a start and finish.

David Hasselhoff's superstardom.
Don't get me wrong. I grew up on Knight Rider & Bay Watch... but can't quite grasp the German rockstar thing.

"Track" pants.
Like Danielle asked here, can someone please explain these to me??

Dogs tying the knot.
Really??

Boohbah (Teletubbies on acid).
Toddlers may get it, but I sure as hell don't.

ReplyDeleteHahaha....we have pretty much the same #1 and kind of similar lists. Love it and I'm. It at all surprised. The Hoff...seriously...why?!? So odd!
ReplyDeleteahaha All of the above!
ReplyDeleteDude, seriously...The Hoff?? I just will never get him.
This is the definition of hilarious. I almost doubled over when I saw dog weddings!
ReplyDeleteSuzie & Danielle-
ReplyDeleteSeriously, we were busting up every time the video played... and watching others on youtube.
Emily-
Crazy, huh?? This gave us a good laugh too... as did Boohbah :).
Ha! Our #1's on our list are similar! It might be hard to believe since I have a toddler but I've never heard of Boobahs and I think I might like it that way.
ReplyDeleteI love your funny list! It's even illustrated! I'm going to have to step up my game next week. Fo' sho.
This is so fun! Seriously THOSE PANTS!!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE WORLD!!!!
ReplyDeleteInfinity, I should have thought of that. Great take on this list, made me smile!
ReplyDeleteawesome. what i don't understand: where does the time go?
ReplyDeleteTorrie, I'm dying over your list. David Hasselhoff's superstardom is at the top of my list as well. So is Keanu Reeve's acting career. My list also includes muffin tops, beauty pageants for children, heavy metal music, and portion control.

Valerie
Tammy-
ReplyDeleteOh, TIME... that's a good one.
Valerie-
You are cracking me up. Love it.
Thanks for the great laugh! Love your incorporation of pictures. I'm not there yet. I've posted my list for the week--these are a lot of fun! Looking forward to checking out the rest of the group's posts for this week!
ReplyDeleteLike you I started all serious and ended trying to understand why Hugh Hefner is getting married...
ReplyDeleteToddlers on acid...very interesting. Maybe I should ask my toddler what she thinks of it! Those track pants are horrible and seriously doggy weddings?? too funny
ReplyDeleteHahah - this list made my day - so funny and so true!
ReplyDeleteAnd those track pants actually make it look like the model may have had an accident in her pants! ;)
xo
those pants, seriously, wtf???? (um, i hope i don't offend you with my all time favorite texting acronym and way to cuss without really cussing... ;) do those look good on anyone????
ReplyDeletelove your list. made me laugh! wish i'd have had the time this week to prepare a post, b/c i've got a HUGE list of things i don't get...
i just ready valerie's comment...laughing!
ReplyDeleteright there with her on Ka-Nu's (as sparky call's him) acting career!
A couple of years ago, I was in Ireland and my Canadian friend introduced me to Boobah and I thought it was the freakiest thing ever (in a really bad way). Anyway, every now and then I would send her a message, just saying "Boooobahhhhh" and we would have a good laugh about it. Some time passed, it got left by the wayside and just recently, I was trying to remember what the damn things were called. Typing in "Beeebooo" and similar to Google doesn't help at all. And then I come across your blog and there it is! Booobahhhh. Freaky.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend :)
A sad thing that I must confess is that I used to love tellatubbies, but I was afraid of Boobahs.
ReplyDeleteDon't think toddlers get it any more than you do.
All right I registered! Even if I might be a tad late for class, I really liked this idea and your lists inspire me.
ReplyDeleteStill unsure about how to participate though... do we have to do it on our blogs or can we leave comments on yours?
Thanks!!
all right people, don't be hatin' on The Hoff! At least he's a better American cultural export than Paris Hilton. I fell off the list wagon for a while but I'm back on again. Keeping up with the writing will be a piece of cake compared to reading everyone else's lists! If we get the query "List Favorite Ways to Avoid Working," I am sure "reading Listography Blog Posts will be my first answer. www.onetruekim.com
