Each Wednesday, Emily, @ Notorious MLE, Danielle, @ Elleinad Spir, and myself are working our way through the lists of Listography 2011.

Have you heard of Esquire's blog, Eat Like a Man?  Well, when it comes to this week's Listography topic- List your favorite foods & things to find at a BBQ- this term immediately came to mind.  Although I love a good macaroni salad- & I it's a rare day when I turn my back on a margarita- the MEAT takes full precedence here.  If I walk into a backyard party & see any of the above items on the grill (preferably all, because how can one really be expected to choose between a hot dog & a hamburger??)- then I'm one happy gal.  A gal who's clearly not thinking about her girlish figure.

So there you have it.  Protein.  Lots of it.

You?  Let us know what area you'd be hovering over- in the comments, or @ Danielle's place if you've got a BBQ-related post to share.

  1. I agree - I had two hamburgers and a brat this holiday weekend. Love anything on the grill!

  4. My favorite BBQ food in the whole world is grilled zucchini. My husband always makes me a ton when he grills but it's pretty rare I find it at anyone else's BBQ. :)

  7. I agree with you - I love protein, especially on a hot summer day while barbecuing. But anything on the grill is phenomenal (is it possible to grill margaritas?) Grilling salad is amazing too - nothing can compare to the taste of warm, slightly charred romaine leaves, fresh off the grill

  11. Perfect timing for summer and of course 4th of July! We grilled cilantro shrimp, veggie skewers, burgers, corn, and it was all delicious! I love summers for grilling...and who wouldn't want a margarita too right?

  12. Oh where do I even start! Okay, let's do meat first, must must have ribs, chicken and sausage( burgers are always there but I am not that much of a burger fan). Of course steak is the ultimate but usually not at a bbq. Now to the sides, must have grilled corn, summer salad full of chopped squash, heirloom tomatoes (can you tell I am from the south) and peppers and of course baked beans. For dessert, must must have homemade ice cream, choc. chip cookies and some type of pound cake with lots and lots of fruit. I am not really done but I feel this comment is going on forever so I will just stop there!LOL!

  14. You would get along with my daughter, Torrie. When I asked her recently about her favorite food, she said "meat!" When I asked her what kind of meat, she replied, "All of it!" Maybe it is my Iowa genes? ;)

  15. Also love everything that can go on a grill, could never be a vege. We're useless at BBQ-ing and my only tip is to douse everything in the Trader Joes teriyaki sauce!
